Our History

Abundant Blessings Theology Seminary was a vision of Dr. Joe L. Jackson of Belzoni, Mississippi that has come to pass.  In May 2006, Dr. Joe L. Jackson and his friend Dr. Mark Calhoun met and discussed the possibility of establishing a seminary for the pastors, ministers, deacons, teachers and lay members in the Delta areas of Holmes and surrounding counties. They understood the need for intellectual and spiritual development for leaders of a growing Delta community; a community thirsting for the infallible word of God.

In September 2006, Abundant Blessings Theology Seminary (ABTS) was established as an accredited adjunct institution to New Foundation Theology Seminary and Sacramento Theological Seminary.  ABTS’ campus is located on the grounds of Antioch MB Church located at 10829 Hwy 49 North in Tchula, Mississippi. It offers Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master's, and Doctorate Degrees in Divinity, Theology, Biblical Studies, and Christian Counseling.

In April, 2007, ABTS was established as an incorporated seminary in the State of Mississippi. ABTS was established to provide holistic training for ministry to enhance the Christian faith. Our goal is to provide healthy, growing churches with a perceptive application that will enhance all facets of life.

ABTS’ first class of 2006 consisted of twelve students and six instructors.  ABTS’s first graduation was held in June 2007.  Those graduating consisted of six of the twelve students. Their transferred credits enabled them to graduate early with a Bachelor’s Degree.  Enrollment has steadily grown at ABTS. As of January 2007, eighteen students were enrolled in the campus program.
